Yay! Part 2 of my Halloween Extravaganza! 🙂

So, for my second costume of the Halloween week, I wore this. It was sent to me by an awesome fan for a custom set. I had been waiting until my hair was a natural color to do the set (which took way too long), so it took a little bit, but I finally got it done. 🙂

I’m really happy with how it came out. I honestly wasn’t sure. I knew how I wanted the backdrop and how I wanted  the lighting and such, but I still didn’t have a super clear picture in my head of how it would come out.
I’m very happy to say that it came out exactly how I had envisioned it and I love it. 🙂

This set was interesting to shoot because before we could even think about taking a picture, we had to cover the wall with newspaper. I thought it would be a quick thing, and we could just jump in to shooting the set.
But, no.
Apparently covering a small corner with newpaper takes like 1.5hrs… 😛

Anyone that knows me know that Halloween is my favorite holiday, and that I don’t just celebrate on October 31st, but I celebrate for an entire week leading up to Halloween and on The Day Of The Dead. So, if you see me anytime that week, I’ll probably be in some kind of costume. 🙂

Because  I love the holiday so much, this year I decided to do a photoset for each costume, plus 1 extra for this awesome blood bag body wash that a fan sent me.

So, I’ve been calling it my Halloween Extravaganza, and will be doing a total of 10 sets for the season!
It’s taking a while to get them all edited and published, but they will eventually get all done.

“Searching For Her Cheshire Cat” is the first photo set from this awesome photo set series!
In this series I dressed up as Alice and wander around the forest to find my own Cheshire cat.

Pissed Off Pistol Photography did an amazing job at creating the Cheshire Cat for this set. It’s like the cat from my head seriously jumped into the pictures, and I couldn’t be happier with it!

When I was in California, I got the chance to work with the amazing Evan Hayden. If you haven’t seen his work before you should definitely check it out. He does amazing illustrated photography. I first learned of Evan through a model/friend of mine, Raven Le Faye, after he published the image Lady Galaxy from one of their shoots. Ever since I saw that, which lead me to look through the rest of his work, I had been dying to work with him. So as soon as I got the dates worked out for my California trip I immediately contacted him.

Once we worked out a date I was super excited, even before he told me about his idea for the shoot. Once he told me about his idea, I was ecstatic.

This shoot was sooooo much fun to shoot. Evan and my boyfriend held these two spools of ribbon while I spun around and around (and around and around and around and around…….) until we decided I was sufficiently mummified in blue ribbon, they helped me onto the ground and I tried to get out of the ribbon while still looking good for the camera, which was impossible with all of the ribbon. So, what you don’t see in the images is that we had to use scissors to cut it away in between shots.

I absolutely love how this set came out, and think it was the perfect entry for me into Zivity’s Holiday Contest.
I also thought it was the perfect set for my first blog entry of my new site. 🙂
And Evan made the totally awesome image with the title on it.
