Shoot with Richard Swift!

Posted by Chelsea Christian on March 12, 2012
Posted in: Uncategorized.

My shoot with Richard Swift went wonderfully. He is a great photographer, and made me feel very comfortable.

Nothing incredibly eventful happened at the shoot. Although, I personally think that’s a good thing, because, to be honest, when big things happen at shoots it’s usually bad. We shot first in my awesome shoes with this beautiful red pvc corset. Did some somewhat simple shots, and then moved onto nude-work.

It was a bit cold, since we were shooting in his garage, I have to admit. But it was nothing too terrible. I mean, we were shooting in the morning on December. 😛 It could have been A LOT worse.

Anyway, I had a great time working with Richard, and I look forward to working with him again on my next trip to Atlanta. 🙂

You can check out all of the photos from this shoot on my Tumblr, Flickr, and DeviantArt. 🙂

Shoot with William David Photo/Tsubasa

I had such an awesome time working with William David Photo/Tsubasa. He is so much fun to work with. Not only is he an incredibly talented photographer, but he did amazing makeup and hair for the shoot! I really had fun at the shoot, and the pictures that came from it are amazing.

I can’t pick my favorite photo from the shoot at all, lol.

We shot this wonderful series where I was wearing this super soft furry coat, lots of jingly jewellery, fluffy hair, and panty hose. And in post he edited this crazy dragon tattoo onto my body! It kind of moves around from one picture to another. 😛

So many people keep asking me if it’s real. It’s hilarious. I mean, I think it looks amazing and real, but I would have posted about whether or not I had gotten a huge crazy awesome dragon tattoo. I also think it’s funny they ask because it moves. 😛

After that set we shot this great fetish set that I got to wear beautiful sheer gloves and thigh high stockings. I also got to wear these amazing black fetish heels.
For the first half of the set I wore this head-harness ball gag and arm restraints that tied my arms behind my back.
For the second half I work this wonderful blindfold and arm and ankle cuffs with a chain I could play with.

The beautiful natural light of his studio made the series one of the best fetish series I think I’ve ever seen (and, no, I’m not just saying that because I’m in the pictures. 😛

For the last set he had these great bright purple panty hose and bright blue rope that matched my hair. We did too different “looks” for this one. He did some amazingly complicated rope bondage ties on me, and added a fan for my hair! I got to wear another pair of really crazy fetish heels, so It was difficult to keep my balance, but I think the shots look great. William, his assistant, and my boyfriend kept watching to catch me if I fell, lol. So many laughs!

When he was editing it he turned them black and white and gave them this 70’s vibe, and I love it! My eyes look crazy in them. 😛

All of these awesome sets were filmed and put together in an amazing video! It’s my first one, and I am so happy with it. It’s more than I expected. Check it out on Vimeo here, or click the image below, or you can check it out right on this site here. 🙂

I also made a bunch of awesome .gifs from the video. 🙂 You can check them out here.

He’s also doing another image that involves 3-d shapes and all kinds of other stuff. I’m so excited to see it when he’s done! 🙂

Shoot with Steve Spharler

Posted by Chelsea Christian on February 21, 2012
Posted in: Uncategorized.

I shot with Steve back in December, and I had a great time shooting with him!
We shot in his house and his wife and puppies were there, and everyone was amazing. I just felt very comfortable and I felt like the shoot flowed really really well.

We did a bunch of different things, starting with just shooting in a pair of jeans. It’s weird because I know pretty much everyone has shot a topless girl in only jeans, and I’ve done it on more than a few occasions, but I never think the images look “cliche”. It’s just a very classic look to me. (Not to mention super comfy!)
I also got to wear blue lipstick that matched my hair. I always love the look of blue lipstick. 🙂 I’ve been unable to find a good quality, not costume-y, actual blue lipstick, so what I do is put gloss on my lips and put eyeshadow on top of the gloss. It looks great and stays  for a long time. However I would like to get some actual lipstick, lol. I’ve seen a great one from Lime Crime that I need to pick up, and  one other place that I can’t even remember the name. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know! 🙂

Then we did some art nudes on their beautiful wooden floor. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: I absolutely love posing on hard wood floors (fake or real, I don’t care). If they have been taken care of, the warm tones that come out in images look amazing on their own, look wonderful against pretty much anyone’s skin. (I say “pretty much” because I haven’t seen an image that it didn’t work with someone’s skin, but I’m sure someone would be like “NO! LOOK AT THIS ONE!” if I said “all”, lol.) And even if they haven’t been taken care of, the juxtaposition of the scratches on the floor against skin is beautiful and adds character.
The we added some lovely white cloth to it so make them a bit softer.

After that I got to shoot with him in these crazy tall stripper heels that a fan sent me. I always enjoy shooting in them, and have worked on not falling, so now I only almost fall in shoots like once. 😛
What can I say? I just love a great set of heels.

Then we traveled to this garage that he works at and finished out the shoot with some  nudes in there. Against the cement block wall, I think the image I received is beautiful! And yes, my body makes all kinds of weird shapes like the one shown in the picture naturally. 🙂

Anyway, I would definitely recommend him if you are in the Jacksonville, Florida area. He’s a great person to shoot with.

Using My Work As A Reference and My Trip To Ft Lauderdale!

First thing’s first: UPDATES ABOUT USING MY WORK AS A REFERENCE
I get asked at least once a day by people interested in using my work as a reference for their own art. I think this is great and have no problem with it most of the time. In fact, I even have reposted some of it to promote those that do it. However, please keep these things in mind:

  • ALWAYS ask me before you do anything based on my work. Yesterday I found two images that used my work as reference that I didn’t know about. Luckily they were using two images that were available to be used as a reference, however if they weren’t I would have had to have them be removed. Not all of my images are available to be used, hence why I need people to ask first. I would hate for someone to do a lot of work and then have to have it removed. That would just suck. Also, it’s all about respecting the copyright holders.
  • ALWAYS credit me and the photographer whenever you post it. Most people credit me and link to my profile, but without the photographer, they image wouldn’t even exist. So I think they should get some credit for it also. 🙂
  • ALWAYS send me a link to the final image. I like to repost people’s work of me and link to their profile to promote them. I also just like to see how the final product came out.

UPDATES ABOUT MY TRIP TO FT LAUDERDALE
My short trip to Ft Lauderdale went wonderfully. I had 3 great shoots, and I can’t wait to see how the pictures came out and shot them to you! I even bought my kitty with me on the trip, and she loved it. 🙂 (Yes, I am a crazy cat lady. :P)
So, unfortunately all trips must come to an end. 😦 Today I’m making the long drive back home, but I would love it if you would ask me questions (via this link) so I don’t get bored! You can ask me absolutely anything, and I answer all of the questions! 🙂

Shoot with Foxharvard

Posted by Chelsea Christian on February 15, 2012

I shot with foxharvard for the first time last December, and it was an awesome shoot. We’d been talking for about a year about scheduling a shoot, and finally we did!

I had such a great time working with him and his beautiful girlfriend, Michelle. And, I got to play with his awesome kitties!

We shot for about 2 hours and did a bunch of different shots.

We started out by shooting in this beautiful white tank-top that an awesome fan sent to me and some cute navy-blue boy-shorts and on Fox’s beautiful leather couch. It is seriously one of the most comfy and beautiful couches I’ve ever seen.
After that we shot some in his kitchen, although those shots didn’t come out.
Then we moved out to his gorgeous dining room table and did come shots where I got to do awesome victory curls in my hair and use a coffee mug.
Then me and Michelle got to shoot this crazy idea on the bed. It was so much fun because we couldn’t stop giggling, and the bubble gum wasn’t doing what we needed it to, lol.
We finished up with some implied shots and poloroids in his living room and the shoot was done!

After the shoot, he made this amazing pasta dish with garlic bread and wine. Oh so good! Fox is probably the best cook I’ve ever known. 🙂

I can’t wait to share the pictures from our second shoot together, where my hair was back to blue! 😛

Shoots in Mt. Dora

Posted by Chelsea Christian on February 8, 2012
Posted in: Uncategorized.

If you follow me on Twitter or on Facebook you probably have noticed that I frequently shoot in Mt. Dora, Florida. I figured it was about time to post a bit about those trips; especially since I have some great images to share taken on the trips now. 🙂

I’ve been down there 5 times to work with the photographers down there, Ken, Jeff, and Robert. They are all amazing guys and I am so happy to have had a chance to work with them, and every time we schedule another shoot I get excited all over again. 🙂

Usually we head down the night before and stay the night so we can wake up bright and early to shoot at sunrise and in the early morning light on this beautiful lake and in the trees and on the shore. If you look at the shoreline and the trees, you can just tell that they’ve been there forever and it’s never really been heavily inhabited. It’s a gorgeous place, and I love how the sunrise looks on the lake. It’s just so peaceful. A beautiful thing to wake up to early in the morning. If you have known me for a while, you’ll know that I really am not a morning person, but these shoots are completely worth waking up for and I always enjoy them.

Over the past few months that I’ve shot with them I’ve had blue/purple hair for half of the shoots and blonde hair for the other half, so the pictures I have right now look totally different. 🙂 Now when we shoot I wear this beautiful blonde wig on the lake. It looks wonderful in the sunlight.

The shoots on the lake are being done for a project that is eventually going to become a book. And it will show all of the seasons of the trees on the lake and have beautiful light and water mixed with models and their poses blending into nature and becoming pseudo-animals and such. While Robert and Jeff have sent me some digital files of their shots, Ken has given me some absolutely beautiful prints that I cannot wait to frame and hang on my wall. (I even gave one of them to my mom for Christmas.)

So, while we’re on the lake it’s me, another model, the 3 awesome photographers, a crew of 2 people to help with the boat we’re on and test the trees and make sure things are safe, and then there’s my boyfriend, and last time there was even a makeup artist and her friend. Sometimes it gets really hectic, but it’s always fun. 🙂 Even Pissed Off Pistol Photography snapped a couple of shots during sunrise on one of the shoots!

I can’t share the lake images just yet. Since they’re shooting all of it for a book we’re all keeping the photos “under wraps” until the book is published. They’ve also been saying the prints that I have are their proof sizes (which is crazy because they’re like 11×14 or bigger) and that they are really meant to be printed at about 4ft tall for a gallery or something like that. So maybe there will be a gallery event when the book is published. (I think that would be pretty awesome!)

Anyway, I really cannot wait to be able to share them and promote the book and such because I really love this series and I think you all will love it also. 🙂

I only posted a few in this blog, but there are a bunch more on my Tumblr, Flickr, and DeviantArt. 🙂
