Shoot with RafaelColon Photography

Posted by Chelsea Christian on January 30, 2012
Posted in: Uncategorized.

I had such a great time at this shoot with RafaelColon Photography.
We shot not one 1, but 3 themes that I am a huge fan of. Pirates, Dr. Who, and Harry Potter!

The first set that we shot was an awesome pirate set, which I got to wear my awesome new fetish-y boots for.

I have been a fan of pirates for as long as I can remember, and am definitely on their side in the “Pirates vs Ninjas” argument. (Which my boyfriend totally hates because he is adamantly pro-pirate, lol.)

Anyway, I think I’ve dressed up as a pirate for multiple Halloweens and am always trying to find more reasons to do so.

The second set we shot was Dr. Who, for which I am also a HUGE fan.

The photographer had this great cutout of the Tardis that I got to pose with, which I had a lot of fun with. I also got to pair crazy stripey socks with my shiney blue hot pants. I am somewhat of a collector of fun socks, so any reason to wear them, is a good reason to me. 🙂

The last set was a Harry Potter set. My definite favorite of the 3 (although it was a really difficult choice). 🙂

I have been a huge fan of the Harry Potter series since the books were released, and have read them more times than I even know. Same thing with the movies. I can quote both, and frequently host HP Movie Marathons for me, my boyfriend, and my cat.  😛

A few people have mentioned the fact that I am in a Gryffindor uniform, and they either don’t like that or they don’t see me as a member of that house. I just want to clear that up here:
I would technically be sorted into Slytherin, however the Gryffindor costume is the one that the photographer had, so… yeah.

Although he has said that it could be fixed. So here’s hoping to an upcoming Slytherin shoot! 🙂

I’ve posted a few more images from the shoot below, but you can see all of the images from all 3 series on my Tumblr, Flickr, or DeviantArt. 🙂

New Pictures From Past Shoots and A Fun Illustration!

Posted by Chelsea Christian on January 24, 2012
Posted in: Uncategorized.

Recently I got all kinds of new images from photographers with all new images from shoots that I had never seen before! I try to post everything chronologically, so when I get new photos from older shoots, I post then as soon as I can. I got some awesome photos that I hope you enjoy as well. 🙂

John T Photography
Johnny sent me some awesome new pictures from our first shoot together, with Jessie Marie Makeup Artistry, Intertwine Hair Design, and Adrienne Cheney. I wrote about the whole shoot on my Tumblr, but let’s just say that it was awesome. 🙂

Here’s just a few from my shoot with Johnny:

-leroy from Freeze Frame Photography
Leroy also sent me some new shots from our shoot when I went up to Charleston with him and Elana Priel Watts. I don’t think I wrote about my shoot, but it was an awesome shoot. He lives on a house boat in a field next to a warehouse, which was pretty cool. He set up a pseudo-studio setting in the warehouse, and we shot there for a while. And then we shot around all of the awesome equipment. I had a great time working with them. 🙂

These are the new images he sent me!

On top of all of the awesome images I got back from photographers, James Courtney also did this amazing illustration from an image taken of me FROM HIGH SCHOOL!

New Zivity Set, New Sets For Purchase, and New Pictures!

Posted by Chelsea Christian on January 15, 2012
Posted in: Uncategorized.

Yay! Lots of awesome new things to share with all of you. 🙂 The first thing that I want to share is my new Zivity set: “Sweet Sacrifice”.

“Sweet Sacrifice” is the 3rd set from my shoot with Fotomark from my trip to LA this summer. It’s also my 50th set on Zivity, and I think it’s the perfect set for my 50th! It’s a beautiful black and white pin-up/glamour set that features me and this big hat that I found lying around in the studio that we were shooting in.

This was actually the last set that we shot during our shoot. We finished the other ones we had planned and just as I was walking back to the dressing room, I noticed this awesome hat on a rack, and I just had to put it on. Once I did we realized it looked adorable!

So, I arranged my hair, put the hat on, found a dress on the rack that matched the hat, grabbed some shoes, and off we went!

This shoot went pretty quickly, but I love the look and feeling of it, and one of my favorite images of myself definitely came of it. 🙂

If you are a member of Zivity, you can check it out here. At the moment my sets with with this photographer are set so that only fully-fledged Zivity subscribers are able to see it, so if you have a trial invite, you won’t be able to view it, or my other 2 sets with Fotomark.

So,  if you’d like to view the set (which I urge you to do, since I promise it’s worth it) and you’re not a member of Zivity, it’s available to purchase here. Or, you can click the “Buy now” button below. 🙂

Fotomark and I also have decided to offer our other 2 sets on here also! You can check out our first set “Purple Haze” on Zivity here, and you can check out our second set “Vampira” on Zivity here.

They are both also set so that you have to be a fully-fledged Zivity member to view them, so if you’d like to check out the full set, you can purchase them from me here.

In addition to the awesome new Zivity set and new sets available for purchase on my site, I’ve added a bunch of new awesome pictures to my port on here as well!

I’m so lucky to have worked with so many awesome photographers so far in my career, and every time I get new pictures, it’s like Christmas, and I love sharing pictures with all of you. 🙂

So I’ve scattered the new images in the rest of this post for all of you to enjoy. I usually will do one big post for each shoot, but these are all individual images I’ve gotten from past shoots I’ve already posted images from, so no big blog about each shoot this time. 🙂

So, in addition to updating with all of these new images and new Zivity sets, I’ve just had classes start, so that’s definitely going to be keeping me busy. I’ll be fitting in shoots where I can because when I don’t shoot I get all antsy and kind of pissed off at the world, so there will always be awesome new photos coming your way!

There are also awesome plans in the works for fun things. All I can say right now is that I’m talking to 4 different people about being published, but as soon as I can release more info, I definitely will. 🙂

Also! To all of the amazing people that sent me lingerie when I put out that post asking for it. Thank you so much, and I’m working on all of your custom sets. My terrible case of poison ivy put my a little behind, but I promise I will get them all to you asap. At the end of this month my boyfriend, Pissed Off Pistol Photography, will be upgrading his entire set up so I can guarantee even better custom sets with better lighting, sets, and more pictures! I promise they will be worth the wait. 🙂

And I’ll be sending out the signed prints to the people I promised those to as well. So, you won’t have to wait much longer for all of those awesome things.

Want your own awesome custom set?? All you have to do is purchase something from me off my wishlist, and I’ll shoot a set for you using or wearing what you sent me! I’m always adding awesome new stuff onto it, and if there’s something you’d like to see me in that isn’t on there, let me know! Chances are, I’ll add it to my list. 🙂

Anyway, that’s all for now. 🙂 I’ve got to head out to another shoot!

If you haven’t, “like” me on Facebook for more updates and pictures!

Shoot with Metier Photo

Posted by Chelsea Christian on January 2, 2012

This shoot was a long 9, almost 10, months ago, and I had practically given up on seeing images from it. In fact, when I sent a message to the photographer about pictures the first time he never responded and he changed his phone number, so there was no way for me to get a hold of him. I even checked with other models that had worked with him, and they were having the same problems. Eventually he responded to my message and was pretty rude to me. He sent me 2 (1 from each of the shoots we did) and I never heard from him again.

I was incredibly surprised when I got a message from him about a week ago from him with pictures from our first shoot. I really like how they came out, even if these are all from about a 10 minute span in our 2 hour shoot.

You can’t tell in the pictures, but I was really uncomfortable this entire shoot. It was really hot and I kept having to fix my hair because I was sweating my makeup off and my hair looked not so good at the end. I don’t think it came out in the pictures, but I was worried the entire time about that, lol.

Member Spotlight on Model Insider!

Posted by Chelsea Christian on January 2, 2012
Posted in: Uncategorized.

I was featured on Model Insider and am their first Member Spotlight for 2012!

I’m really excited about it. I did the interview about a month ago (maybe longer) and I didn’t hear anything back from them so I thought that maybe my answers weren’t good enough to be used or something like that. Then early this morning I got a message saying it was published!

You can check out the interview on Model Insider here, or continue reading below. 🙂

How did you get started in modeling? What brought you to it?
A friend of mine is a makeup artist, and she was looking to update her portfolio. Her parents are professional photographers, so it was pretty easy for her to set it all up. She came up with the plans to do a shoot related to vampires and other horror makeup. She sent out a Facebook event invitation to her friends and asked people that were interested in being a part of it to let her know. I got the invite and let her know that I wanted to be a part of the shoot. (I had wanted to be a model when I was younger, about 13, and got a call back audition thing at a casting, but never really did anything about it, so I forgot about it.) I did a few different shoots with her and her parents and other friends of ours that wanted to be involved with it, and I realized I really loved being a model.

I decided to focus on school, so I didn’t really pursue it. A few months later, a few of my friends contacted me and said they’d seen the pictures from that shoot, and that they had assignments for their photography classes that needed models, and wondered if I would work with them on it. After those few shoots with my friends I realized that I really had a passion for the industry, and wanted to pursue it more seriously. I basically threw myself into becoming a successful model, and I’ve been doing it ever since.
Do you consider yourself: Pro, Semi Pro, Hobbyist, Amateur, Something Else?I consider myself a professional model. This is my full-time job and I make my living off of it, and that’s what, in my mind, makes someone a professional.

How did you find Model Insider and what do you like best about it?
I honestly can’t remember how I found Model Insider. I think I followed a link to it from someone’s page and joined. I really like the contest and forum setup, as well as the layout of profiles and portfolios.

What is your usual genre? Favorite genre?
My usual genre is artistic nude and glamour/lingerie. I don’t know if I have a favorite genre, but I love doing shoots that have a full concept that drives what kinds of images you’re trying to create. Being part of a team of people that combine their specialties together to bring life to an idea is one of the best parts of this job.

How do you find photographers to work with?
Usually photographers find me. I have booked work through different modeling portfolio sites (like MI), as well as DeviantArt, Flickr, and through referrals from other photographers. Whenever someone contacts me that is far from where I live I add them to a list that I keep and contact them when I’m in their area.

Do you do your own styling and makeup? Do you work with a preferred MUA?
90% of the time I do my own styling and makeup. I don’t have a preferred MUA, but I love working with talented makeup artists and hair stylists. I’m not either, so I can only do so much to my face and hair, so I always like working with someone that really knows what they’re doing with it. I feel like working with MUAs and hair stylist can bring images to a new level.

Where do you see yourself going in the next year, artistically and business wise?
In the next year I plan to continue doing what I’m doing now. I’ll still be balancing being a full-time model with being a student, but it’s worked out really well so far. However, in the next 2 years I do have plans to move out to California and continue modeling from there.

Do you shoot both in studio and on location and do you have a preference?
I shoot in studios and on location. I feel like I shoot an equal amount in both, but I seem to do them in spurts. Like for a month straight it will all be in studio, and then it will all be outside. It’s odd how that works out. I don’t have a preference until it gets to be the summer or winter. My body doesn’t handle extreme temperatures very well, so while I can endure a shoot outside in the extreme heat or cold, I end up paying for it later.

Do you travel?
I do travel. Whenever I have a break in my classes I try to travel as much as I can. Last Spring I went around pretty much the entire state of Georgia and went down to Miami. And this past summer I spent 6 weeks touring California and was in Atlanta as well. I’d like to do a lot more travelling though, and would like to make it to New York City and Philadelphia next.

Anything else you’d like to tell the Model Insiders about yourself?
In addition to modeling, I’ve also been a percussionist for 11years and am working on raising awareness for Fibromyalgia, an illness which I also suffer from. So far I’ve been on the cover of the Fibromyalgia And Chronic Pain Life magazine which also featured an article about me as well. I feel like more awareness will lead to more research, which will lead to better ways to handle the sometimes debilitating symptoms. As much as I love, and have a passion for, modeling it does get in the way and prevents me from working as much as I’d like. I just like to urge people to be aware of the illness and to help their friends or loved ones if they know someone who also suffers from it.

A Review Of 2011 – Thank you :)

Posted by Chelsea Christian on December 31, 2011
Posted in: Uncategorized.

I know everyone is doing their own recaps of this past year, and it’s something I’ve been doing also, but this year I feel like I have a lot more that I want to say. So, this is my review of 2011.

First of all, I just want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone that has supported me this past year. It’s a huge amount of people, so I won’t list everyone, but I just want to let you know that I really appreciate it. Even if you’ve done something as small as “liked” me on Facebook, “watched” me on DeviantArt, or “followed” me on Twitter or Tumblr. Those are small things, but I really appreciate it. It’s a small gesture, but every time I see someone new add me on any of the various websites that I’m on I always get this excited feeling in my stomach and I think “Hey! Someone likes what I do!” It’s silly, but every time I see someone new it honestly makes me feel all special inside and really makes me want to continue doing what I do and makes me want to do even better. I don’t want someone to sit there and say “Why did I add her? This is boring.” If no one liked what I did, I honestly don’t know if I could continue because there’d be a reason people hated it. You know?
Anyway… I just really wanted to thank all of you out there that even remotely think what I do is good. You all seriously kick some ass, and I wouldn’t be here without you. I hope I continue to do awesome shit that you all enjoy.

This past year has been really awesome for me, and I almost can’t believe that I managed to squish everything into 1 year. Somehow I did it, but when I think back I really don’t know how. It’s crazy to me.

I’ve worked with some really amazing people this year. In 365 days I worked with 186 different people and was a part of 141 different shoots and I traveled some insane number of miles. Wow… At the time I was doing all of this it seemed just like normal life, but that means that on average I was shooting every 2.5 days this year I was shooting. There is no fucking way I could have done that without the support of all of you, my friends, my parents, and my amazing boyfriend (that got dragged to all of these and helped out at most).

This year was when I was first published in an online magazine, and a print magazine. I was able to bring a lot of awareness to debilitating chronic illnesses (like Fibromyalgia, which I personally suffer from). I got some amazing print’s from photographers. I got a ton of sets published on Zivity. My fan base grew tremendously. I got recognized for the first time out in public. I launched a print store, my website, joined and remained active on a ton of websites. I maintained my status as a full-time student, and seriously improved my grades. And, I turned 21 (which I thought was pretty awesome).

But, 2011 was not without difficulties. I was in and out of the hospital at least 5 times that I can think of. I get really sick a few times. I seriously injured my hand when a glass exploded in it. Passed out in my kitchen and got a concussion. Fell down my stairs and got an even worse concussion. Got really bad laryngitis and had to go about 4 days without a voice. I’m dealing with worse symptoms from all of my health problems. My car got broken into. I had to spend $1500 to replace the entire A/C system in my car (which is still having problems), and had to replace the battery. And I’m ending 2011, and ringing in 2012, with some pretty bad poison ivy I got at a shoot.

In the past I feel like I would have let all of that knock me down and I would have given up, but this past year I found a confidence that I didn’t know that I had, and I was able to pretty much say “Oh well, that sucks. I’ve got shit to do.” While that may sound somewhat insane, and it probably is, I honestly believe that it’s made me a better person. When I was younger the smallest thing would make me give up, but now I keep surprising myself with not wanting to stop doing what I love. (My mom probably understands, because if I felt the smallest bit of sick I would refuse to go to school and she had to deal with it.)

The shoot I had a concussion during

Even despite all of that I went to a shoot with stitches in my hand, with a concussion, without my voice, a bunch of sunrise shoots that required me to wake up at 6am and it was freezing outside, while I was sick, while I was throwing up in between shots, with poison ivy, and driving around south Florida in the summer with no A/C in my car. I can honestly say I would not have been able to do that without all of the support from all of you. I truly appreciate everyone that has stuck with me throughout this year of ups and downs.

I’ve made some amazing friends and worked with some amazing people. One of the great parts about my job is all of the awesome people I get to meet and work with. Without those people, there would be no point to this. That’s how I see it anyway.

There was awesome stuff that happened that wasn’t directly related to modeling as well. My mom and I have a better relationship now, I was able to make my first trip to Miami (even if it was terrible), I travelled around the entire state of California, I met my boyfriend’s family, my cat turned into a cuddle-kitty, I became stupidly attached to a stuffed unicorn that my boyfriend gave me, I got turned on to a whole bunch of new video games and music, and a lot more.

This year has been amazing, but I can’t wait for next year. I know it’s going to be even more awesome. More shoots with amazing people. I’m going to try to travel a lot more (hopefully up to NYC, Philly, Boston, and possibly Portland). I’m working with more photographers for even better shoots on Zivity and to be published more. If you’d like to be a part of this next year, feel free to contact me to set something up (ModelMayhem, ChelseaChristian.com). I’m always looking for more awesome people to work with and to be a part of their art.

But, again, thank you everyone for all of your support. You guys are why I do this. I hope I continue to put out awesome images for you.

Happy New Year.
Thank you ,2011, for all of your ups and downs, and making me into a better person.
And to 2012: BRING IT ON.

❤ Chelsea

Merry Christmas everyone!!

My Christmas morning started out with a shower and then I immediately changed into this awesome Christmas number and shot a short but sweet Christmas set for all of you. 🙂
It starts out with me wearing this adorable Christmasy outfit that an awesome fan sent me, and ends with me wearing nothing but a necklace and a smile.

It’s going to be up on Zivity eventually, but right now it’s only available through my site! I wanted you all to have a chance to look at it before anyone else. And, in the spirit of Christmas, I lowered the price.

If you haven’t purchased it for yourself, you definitely should!
Or, you can purchase it and send it to a friend. It’s a great virtual stocking-stuffer for a friend or family member.
I mean, who doesn’t want boobs for Christmas??? I know I want some. 😛

Or, you can go here and check out all of the sets I have available for purchase. 🙂

I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas and holiday season in general. I know I’m spending most of it eating awesome home-cooked food!

Merry Christmas!

Pretty Kitties

Yay! Part 4 of my 10 set Halloween Extravaganza is published! 🙂

So, for this set I dressed up as a kitty. This has always been one of my standard costumes for Halloween, and I always have a lot of fun wearing it, because I dress up like a kitty at random times throughout the year also.

In this set I pose in these amazing new shoes all dressed up in my kitty costume. My kitty, Sylvanas, even makes an appearance in about half of the set. 🙂

I really love this set, and I think you will too. You can check out the set on Zivity.com here, or you can purchase it directly from me here.

Forest Fairies At Sunrise

Yay! Day 3 of my Halloween Extravaganza!!

There’s not much to say about this set except that I didn’t have to do anything, so I frolicked around my house in lingerie all day as fairies. 🙂 Luckily I was able to run out around sunrise and shoot this set.

I couldn’t decide which outfit I liked best, so I used both for the set. So, half of the set is in the cream-colored set, and the other half is in the blue/black set. I had a lot of fun because my makeup is totally different in each set and so is my hair. I thought it was really awesome to think up a totally new look for each one. 🙂

You can check out this set on Zivity.com here, or you can purchase it directly from me here.

It’s entered into the “Good Morning Sunshine” contest, so you should definitely check it out.
